"While working to form a new athletic conference, we secured the services and consulting expertise of ASC. We were extremely pleased with their assistance and timeliness in helping us achieve our goals within a realistic and feasible budget. ASC was a trusted and valued resource in helping us develop membership goals, budgets, new bylaws, name and logo development, as well as a successful commissioner search. The ASC staff prepared us with just what we needed so our new commissioner could make immediate progress. ASC understands conference office operations and they were a tremendous asset for our leadership group.  I am pleased to say we now have a vibrant and growing conference thanks in part to ASC's important efforts."

LECAthletic Staffing and Consultants (ASC) has been awarded the opportunity to conduct the search for the next commissioner of the Little East Conference (LEC). The Little East Conference, which consists of nine public institutions located throughout New England, seeks a replacement for Cora Brumley who announced her resignation at the end of the academic year.

Dr. Kurt Patberg, ASC’s Senior Vice President will be assisting the established search committee and working in collaboration with Dr. Frank Sanchez, President of Rhode Island College and the incoming Chair of the LEC Presidents Council. ASC Senior Consultant Kim Fierke will assist with the search.

“We are thrilled to have been selected to conduct the search for the next Little East Conference commissioner,” explains Patberg, “As with all of the searches we have been entrusted with, our goal is to find the right leader that will be able to grow with the conference and its member institutions.” Patberg also assisted the league leadership in its strategic planning in 2017.

The Little East Conference was established on April 28, 1986 as a single sport league by six public institutions located throughout New England.  The LEC-member men’s and women’s basketball teams commenced play in 1986-87 with double round-robin regular season and six-team championship tournament.  The Little East Conference has since become a multi-sport league with nine primary members, six affiliate members and 19 championships.

The Little East Conference's primary members are Castleton University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Keene State College, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth, Plymouth State University, Rhode Island College, University of Southern Maine and Western Connecticut State University.
