aum 1 webASC has been assisting Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) with its membership re-application for NCAA Division II. Kurt Patberg, who spent nearly ten years as a NCAA Division II commissioner has been providing the University administration with assistance in completing the membership application.

AUM was initially accepted for membership during the 2013 cycle but was denied continued first year status when AUM self-reported a violation to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Although the violation was specific to one sport, it created an institutional probation that by NCAA membership standards deemed AUM not in good standing with its current national association. AUM swiftly and correctly remedied this self-reported violation and has continued to conduct its athletic affairs in a manner that reflects its goal to become affiliated with the NCAA Division II.

"By using their [ASC's] knowledge to get to our short list of candidates that fit what we sought in an athletic director, we easily spent half the amount of time that is normally required in a search like this.   Additionally, they enhanced the pool of by bringing several qualified candidates to the finalist list.  Showing that they know talent, two of the individuals that they sought out, and applied to our position, were hired by and are current NCAA Division II AD’s.  Our search finished with securing a quality hire.  If our institution ever needed to conduct a search for an athletic director, we would without question use the services of ASC."
