Steier Pic scaledHuntingdon College has hired Julia Steier to lead the Hawks women’s lacrosse program. Formerly the head women’s lacrosse coach at Drew University for three seasons, Steier begins her duties immediately and follows a two year stint by Head Coach Morgan Cross. The Huntingdon women's lacrosse program will begin its fourth season of competition in 2016. The Lady Hawks are 16-29 in their first three seasons.

In three seasons at Drew University, Steier led the women's lacrosse program to 28 wins, two appearances in the Landmark Conference Championships and two appearances in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Mid-Atlantic Championships. Her teams produced 14 All-Conference selections, eight Regional All-Americans, two conference Players of the Year, 11 Academic All-Conference selections, two New Jersey Woman of the Year honorees, two ECAC All-Stars and one Academic All-American.

Before Drew, Steier spent three seasons as an assistant coach at the Division I level with Sacred Heart University. During those three seasons, the Pioneers were 23-7 in the Northeast Conference, won two conference regular-season championships and one conference title. The Pioneers produced 11 All-Conference selections, one conference Player of the Year and one conference Goalkeeper of the Year. The Sacred Heart coaching staff received Coach of the Year honors in 2010.

Following a successful search for a volleyball coach, Huntingdon College sought the services of ASC to assist in securing their new women’s lacrosse coach.

"By using their [ASC's] knowledge to get to our short list of candidates that fit what we sought in an athletic director, we easily spent half the amount of time that is normally required in a search like this.   Additionally, they enhanced the pool of by bringing several qualified candidates to the finalist list.  Showing that they know talent, two of the individuals that they sought out, and applied to our position, were hired by and are current NCAA Division II AD’s.  Our search finished with securing a quality hire.  If our institution ever needed to conduct a search for an athletic director, we would without question use the services of ASC."
