The announcement of both Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) and Purdue University Northwest (PNW) successfully entering their final year of the NCAA Division II Membership process came a great news to the staff at Athletics Staffing and Consulting (ASC). Both of these institutions have been transitional clients of ASC for the past few years. Both institutions have entered their final year of a three-year provisional process before gaining full Division II eligibility.
Auburn University at Montgomery secured the services of ASC in late summer of 2016 and has since had two successful transition years. ASC has been involved with most all aspects of the transition including assisting with the updating of their strategic plan and the development of their gender equity and diversity plans. ASC also assisted with the creation of the Internal Self-Study Guide (ISSG). AUM is an active member of the Gulf South Conference.
Purdue University Northwest was voted into the NCAA Division II membership process effective the 2016-17 athletic year. ASC completed Feasibility Study and worked closely with the institution to design their departmental strategic, gender equity and diversity plans as part of the membership process. ASC also assisted with the construction of the ISSG. PNW formerly Purdue Calumet has been a client of ASC entering its fifth year. ASC also assisted PNW with its membership application and entrance into the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
“The staff at ASC is excited for the constituent groups of both institutions as they enter this final year of the Division II membership process,” stated Dr. Kurt Patberg, Senior Vice President of ASC. Patberg as well as ASC’s past compliance consultant, Tammi Ikerd, were instrumental in this consulting process. Ikerd will be joining the NCAA Division II Membership Committee beginning in the Fall 2018.
