Jennifer Stearsman is the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance at Lynn University. She joined the Fighting Knights' staff after eight years at Young Harris College.
Stearsman joined the Young Harris College Athletics staff in July 2010 as the college’s first-ever director of compliance. She was promoted to senior woman administrator and assistant director of athletics in April 2011. She was promoted to associate director of athletics in July 2012.In her role, Stearsman is charged with establishing procedures and policies that ensure that YHC is in compliance with NCAA rules as they relate to recruiting, scholarships and eligibility; and then to monitor the athletics programs to make sure those policies are being followed.
Stearsman came to Young Harris after serving as assistant athletics director for compliance at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. Stearsman was GSW’s first compliance officer and served in that role from 2007-09, also served as the Hurricanes’ women’s basketball coach for four years.
She attended Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team and graduated as the school’s all-time leader in three-point field goals. Stearsman is eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,217 points. Her seven three-point field goals against Waynesburg University still stands as Bethany’s single-game record.
Stearsman has produced three Institutional Self Study Guides (ISSG) during her time working in compliance at two NCAA Division II institutions. She has assisted both Georgia Southwestern and Young Harris produce their second year ISSG’s as a part of their NCAA Membership processes. Stearsman also produced Young Harris’s first ISSG as a full-member in 2017.
Stearsman is married to a collegiate women's basketball coach Matt Stearsman and she resides in the Boca Raton area.
