Senior Vice President, Kurt Patberg, after just completing the Western New Mexico University Athletic Director search, continues to work with his newest search San Francisco State University, provides some insight into the reason for the influx of searches that Athletics Staffing and Consultants have been awarded. “We have taken pride in developing a search process that we feel provides what the leadership on these campuses need, and we price our services accordingly.” ASC has been awarded seven NCAA Division II searches during the 2017-18 academic year.
Modified searches limit time on campuses and some of what the leadership at Athletics Staffing and Consultants (ASC) feel are unnecessary portions of the search process that ASC feels can be better handled by the campus personnel themselves. Because the ASC personnel have deep roots in NCAA Division II, they understand the significance of the price point but also what major services are expected from a search firm. ASC is deeply committed to keeping its prices at a level where most Division II institutions who desire to secure the assistance of a search firm are comfortable in doing so. ASC notes that nearly 85% of their searches have resulted in securing persons who would not have applied for the position on their own without contact by the staff at ASC.
ASC has recently completed searches at Cal State-East Bay and Upper Iowa University and are currently active in searches with Stanislaus State and Colorado State University-Pueblo.
